Control Your Financial Future
Securing financial stability is the first step towards economic mobility and potential homeownership. Through various educational workshop initiatives and one-on-one counseling, LUCHA’s Housing Counselors provide clients with the resources and guidance to ensure that the bills are paid and that there are still funds to plan for the future.
Household Foundations Pilot Project
In 2018, LUCHA launches the Household Foundations Pilot Project, which sees a cohort of LUCHA tenants who will meet monthly and work alongside Housing Counselors and Resident Services staff to achieve a greater degree of financial stability. Tenants will will set financial goals with achievable objectives and create financial management plans and employment plans. The program will pilot for one year.
Additionally, this project and Project Jumpstart have collaborated to create a financial empowerment cohort for Project Jumpstart participants.
Fair Housing Education Workshops
LUCHA is launching a series of free monthly educational workshops dedicated to fair housing education for renters. Topics include landlord and tenant rights, the ins-and-outs of tenancy, background and credit checks, budgeting for monthly rent costs, and more.
