HUD Housing Counseling Certification

Please join us in congratulating LUCHA’s housing counseling team and Director of Programs for successfully completing all requirements and passing the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Housing Counseling Certification Exam! In December 2016, HUD published the Housing Counseling New Certification Requirements Final Rule, which implements statutory requirements for housing counseling required under or provided in connection with HUD programs. Effective 2020, all HUD-certified agencies must employ HUD-certified housing counselors per the certification exam.

With this achievement, LUCHA is the first HUD-approved housing counseling agency in the state of Illinois to employ 100% HUD-certified counselors. Congratulations, counselors!
